Matthews: Which current or former international leader should be prosecuted by the ICC and why?
Senior Deputy Director, Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies
The Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kin Jong-Un, deserves special attention given that he oversees his country’s Orwellian security state which has built over the years many large-scale detention camps holding hundreds of thousands of political prisoners in inhumane conditions. Next down the list would be another “Supreme Leader”, Ali Khamenei of Iran who continues to oppress his country’s minority Baha’i community and Iranian women in general, saying nothing of his efforts to institutionalize anti-Semitism. Last but not least is Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe for taking his country down the toilet.
