Kim Vance is the Executive Director and co-founder of ARC International. Founded in 2003, ARC International is an NGO, based in Canada and Switzerland, geared to advancing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights. They have played a key role in the application of international human rights law in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as providing support to NGOs working in countries around the world, and ensuring that the records of all UN States on LGBT issues are subjected to international scrutiny. Before founding ARC International, Vance served as President of Egale Canada, and co-founded a provincial-level LGBT umbrella organization in her province of Nova Scotia. She is a seasoned activist within the LGBT communities at the international, national and local levels, and has won numerous awards and accolades for her contributions.
