Kaveh Shahrooz is a lawyer based in Toronto, where his work focuses primarily on corporate social responsibility. He was formerly a Senior Policy Advisor with Canada`s Department of Foreign Affairs, where he advised the government on Canada's role at the UN Human Rights Council. From 2006 to 2010, he practiced as a transactional lawyer in New York at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, an international law firm. He has a B.A. from the University of Toronto and a law degree from Harvard Law School. He is a former Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Human Rights Journal. Kaveh has published widely on human rights issues, has regularly appeared as a commentator in the media,and recently provided expert testimony to the Foreign Affairs Committee of Canada`s Senate.
