Trudeau Scholar (2012)
Katrin Wittig is a 2012 Trudeau Scholar in the Political Science Department at Université de Montréal. She is specializing in questions related to peace processes and the promotion of development and democracy in post-conflict societies, especially in the African Great Lakes Region. In her doctoral thesis, she examines the transformation of rebel groups into political parties and the integration of ex-combatants into the post-conflict society. Before starting her PhD, Katrin worked with a pan-African consultancy and the United Nations on development-related issues, including the implementation of the UN Millennium Development Goals.
