John Mitton is a PhD Candidate in Political Science at Dalhousie University. His doctoral research focuses on the intersection of civil war and international rivalry, while other interests include Canadian foreign policy, American foreign policy, coercive diplomacy, and international relations theory. His work has appeared in Canadian Journal of Political Science, Contemporary Security Policy, and International Journal.
