John Manley

President and CEO of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives
Hon. John Manley was Deputy Prime Minister from 2002 to 2003. In his 15 years in Parliament, he also served as Minister of Finance, and of Foreign Affairs, and of Industry. As Minister of Foreign Affairs, in 2001 he was named TIME Canada Magazine’s “Newsmaker of the Year”, having launched the Smart Borders program and chaired the Committee on Public Policy and Anti-Terrorism in the wake of September, 11. In 2008 he released his independent panel's report on Canada's future in Afghanistan to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. In 2009 Hon. John Manley was appointed President and CEO of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives.
